IAG, whose brands include NRMA Insurance, CGU and WFI, has its assessing and claims teams standing by to help customers impacted by torrential rainfall and storms across eastern Australia.
Widespread heavy rain, thunderstorms and flash flooding is impacting areas across south-east Queensland and the New South Wales coast, where damaging wind warnings have also been issued.
With further adverse weather expected, IAG Major Events Response Manager Julia Attard said IAG is closely monitoring the weather systems and is well prepared to support customers who may be impacted.

“We’ve also mobilised our partner builders in the regions being impacted, and those teams are ready to perform critical ‘make safe’ repairs for customers once it is safe to do so.
“We have extra claims consultants standing by to ensure we can help our customers as quickly as possible. Customers can also lodge their claims online via the NRMA Insurance app, website or the CGU and WFI websites, or you can call your insurer.”
IAG Executive Manager Claims Natalie Major said: “With severe weather warnings in place, we are reminding everyone to make safety the number one priority. Keep an eye out for your neighbours, particularly if they’re elderly or need extra support in an emergency.
“We encourage everyone adhere to the advice and directions of the emergency authorities. If possible, stay indoors and avoid driving in severe weather, particularly in flooded areas. If you are on the road, never drive through floodwaters as the consequences can be tragic."
We will provide additional updates on the severe weather event and support for our customers and communities.
