IAG's New Zealand businesses, NZI, Lumley Insurance, State, AMI and are the country's leading general insurance providers.
What we do
State and AMI cover predominantly personal assets such as homes and vehicles and sell policies directly to the public. State also offers a range of business insurance policies for business owners, while NZI and Lumley Insurance specialise in providing business, rural and personal insurance through brokers.

Brands
In New Zealand IAG offers the majority of its products under the State, AMI, NZI and Lumley Insurance brands.
NZI
NZI is a leading commercial insurer in New Zealand and one of New Zealand’s oldest brands with a heritage dating back to 1859. IAG acquired NZI in 2003.
State
State offers insurance cover for predominantly personal assets such as home and vehicle with policies sold directly to the public. It was established in 1905 and acquired by IAG in 2001.
AMI
AMI provides insurance cover for nearly 500,000 customers holding some 1.2 million policies. The business was founded in Christchurch in 1926 as the South Island Motor Union. IAG completed the acquisition of AMI in April 2012.
Lumley Insurance
Lumley Insurance is one of New Zealand’s leading providers of general insurance products and services.
Lumley write all major classes of general insurance, and have a particularly strong history of expertise in the transport sector. Other areas of specialty include Construction and Engineering, Liability, Marine, Property and Casualty and Personal lines.
