From 4th December 2022, SGIO and SGIC home, motor vehicle and leisure insurance products will transition to NRMA Insurance. This follows the transition of SGIC CTP insurance to NRMA Insurance in July this year.
SGIO, SGIC and NRMA Insurance are part of IAG, Australia’s largest general insurer, and the same local teams will continue supporting West Australian and South Australian customers.
SGIO and SGIC customers joining NRMA Insurance will receive the same services they are used to with additional benefits such as access to a broader range of products and more flexible ways to pay their premiums.
IAG will continue to employ more than 1,000 people across the two states, including within NRMA Insurance’s largest call centre nationally in West Perth.
NRMA Insurance Group Executive Julie Batch said: “We’re delighted to welcome our SGIO and SGIC customers to NRMA Insurance.
“The SGIO and SGIC transition adds to our national growth plans, which have been gaining momentum since we launched NRMA Insurance nationally in 2021.
“This is a further step in simplifying our business and supports our focus on building our digital capabilities to meet the changing needs of our customers, and providing them with the best possible products and service.”
SGIO and SGIC customers are being supported through the transition and can call 1300 230 627 for assistance or visit a dedicated FAQs page at: sgic.com.au/about-nrma-insurance or sgio.com.au/about-nrma-insurance.
At this stage, SGIO and SGIC will continue to offer small business insurance in Western Australia and South Australia respectively.
