IAG argues that existing laws in the general insurance industry have a strong consumer protection focus and insurers are subject to the duty of utmost good faith in dealings with consumers.
We consider that the existing legal and regulatory framework of protections for general insurance consumers are adequate and strike the right balance between protecting consumer and business interests.
